I love the feature. I just wish CO would put zeroes in for fare buckets instead of just leaving them off the list.
I have two CO flights in a reservation and the fare availability looks like this:
F9, FN9, FE9, C9, D9, Z9, ZN9, ZE9, Y9, YN9, B9, M9, E9, U9, H9, HN9, Q9, V9, W9, S9, T9, L9, K9, G9, N9, XN9, X3
and
F9, FN9, FE9, C9, D9, Z9, ZN9, ZE9, R5, Y9, YN9, B9, M9, E9, U9, H9, HN9, Q6
So the first flight has no upgrade availability in "R" right now. I'm a little surprised as there are still 8 open seats out of 16 but ok. The second flight has 5 upgrades available.

So this is where the fare bucket availability on existing reservations gets a little frustrating.
I haven't been upgraded yet on my first flight for tomorrow. As many of us know, CO likes to release a bucket load of "R" seats the day before the flight and then processes them as part of EUA just before the 24 hour check-in mark.
Tomorrow's flight is F4 and now is suddenly showing R3 which means CO is willing to upgrade three people and leave the flight at F1. No problem as that is what CO has been doing for years. But what's frustrating is that as of this morning (still 10 hours before check-in can open) the "R" seats are there and you just sit here wishing CO would have just run the EUA already so you know whether you get the upgrade.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining at all. This adds more transparency to the process and I'm all for it. As a plat member I'll just continue to assume one of those three "R" seats is mine at just before OLCI opens later today.

I noticed the same thing when hovering over "flight details" on non-code-share CO flights on .bomb's flight results page. First time I'd seen CO "R" availability in ages (I hadn't done any searches on the preview site).

And yes, I know some of that aspect is probably policy vs. process, but it is what it is.

I've updated the GreaseMonkey script a bit. It will now show the R inventory in red if it is a 0 and in green (and bigger) if it is something else.

I can reasonably easily edit it to do the same for the other award buckets (X/XN/I/O). Any interest in that??

Is there a thread dedicated to how to make the best use of this thing? I'm a PresPlatinum but am having a heck of a time trying to understand how to use this information.
If there isn't another thread on how to use this information, can we start it here?
Thanks in advance.

They don't call it NonePass for nothing.
Nope...this is in production now.
There was a minor bug in v3 of the script that prevented actually selecting flights. That is now fixed in v4 and I'd recommend making sure you have that version if you're having troubles.

Just do any search on co.com and click on the "Fare Class" text in the right-most column of the search results and the box will pop up with the data.
If you want the boxes to always show up and have the award buckets highlighted as in the screen shot I included it is a bit more complicated. Install Opera, FireFox or Chrome. If FireFox, install GreaseMonkey; for the other two it should work natively. Then click here to install the "Expert Mode" script and it should just work.
