I am happy to see the merger has progressed to this important milestone, and in fact noted it in a link on G+.

However, along with the Tulip and the name of the FF program, I do not care a whit about the chosen ATC callsign, whether it alternately had ended up Continental, UCH (say it like "Ouch"), or Varney.

As long as I can still hear whatevertheycallit on Channel 9.

Are pilots using "United in Continental colors" for CO planes that have not been repainted?

We (FlightAware) had some pains yesterday because various airline systems still consider them to be CO flights from a ticketing perspective (which are codeshared on UA and operated with the UA callsign) while in ATC-world it's all UAL. We have it fixed now so all flights natively operate as UA and there's a CO codeshare for every flight.

Hasn't been announced yet.

I'd guess 005.

On what do you base this guess? Just curious.

Thanks, I see that! ^ Pretty cool to see UAL as the #1 operator now.

I suspect the lower number is perceived as being more prestigious. Plus I think they're going with CO's non-instant ticketing system, so it's easier to not change.

I took 2 flights today on what I really consider to be Continental flights. However, when going to input them into my flightmemory I was stumped on what airline to put. I suppose it's somewhat a personal preference right now but what would you do?

They are still operating as two separate carriers, and as such, input it as CO.

Single Operating Certificate

They're still ticketing as two separate carriers, but they aren't operating as two separate carriers.

When CO crews are on UA flights, and UA crews are on CO flights, then I'll consider it a single airline. Calling CO, the phone hold music even says that they're operating as United and Continental...
