Good lord, as if we needed more reasons to hate this mess....what did they do to the wingtip fences? That looks horrible.

7 planes currently in for paint... repainting is chugging along. Updates are on the wiki.

In the 4Q earnings report, it noted that 200 aircraft have been painted in the new livery to date. I'm assuming most of those are CO since it's an easy job.

For fleet junkies, here's UA's 2011 fleet plan:

If folks have been following the Wiki, they'd see we're now up to ~9% of the pre-merger UA mainline fleet painted in the new colors, and N209UA is scheduled to go in for conversion soon.

I'm also hearing rumblings of a possibility of CO 737-900s being converted for ps service, but we all know how reliable rumors can be.

a 739 with p.s. service would be an interesting product.. Does UA even have extra seats to install, or could we see some new p.s. F/C/Y config? You've also got to wonder about E+!

Effective this week, all the United domestic 767-300s, have had their take-off weights upgraded to 407,000lbs, the same as the 3-class Intl fleet.
The domestic birds will maintain their current lower power 4056 engines, but with added weight performance will have greater flexibility for future flying.
I imagine this is to deploy them to the old CO Micronesia routes... and possibly even east coast-HNL.

Excellent news.

Theory 1
I suspect that there will be interior upgrades announced shortly for the 2 class 767 fleet. As the aircraft is deployed to more international flying.

Theory 2
UA will keep the 2 class 767's configured in a domestic F configuration. These birds will be restricted to low yield trips to/from HNL, Philipines, Guam, Micronesia, and the various other Pacific islands. This will free up the BF birds for more high yield routes.

Also I'd expect some of the 2 class 777's to get the same MTOW upgrades and the new "international" interior (3 class or BF). They'd then be re-deployed on higher-yield routes.

I could've swore the Ghetto Birds were upgraded a while back, like 2008, for commonality for the international birds and for better take-off performance on Hawaii routes.

The only upgrades were recovering the seats in F with leather like they did on the whole 2 class fleet, and they replaced the overhead projectors with shared LCD screens. That's it.

Really, so all of the 2-class fleet has new seats in F? If so, we should update the Wiki!

Those are low yield trips?
