I think you'll find that there are folks on the UA Wiki that revert changes they disagree with - especially related to formatting.

I like the spreadsheet, personally. If we could find a way to make a Wiki page automatically from the spreadsheet I'd be delighted.

N209UA is already in the new colors, weren't they supposed to get the Battleship Grey ones first?

What would be the purpose of that? All need to be repainted, no need to pick-and-choose, just go with what's easiest to remove from the fleet.

N226UA is painted. The paint progress for UA planes is proceeding slowly... looks like most of the paint is being applied to CO planes right now.

Also reading/hearing rumors that the 767-2 class (ghetto birds) will be reconfigured for international flying in a 2-class 30/188 config using CO's BusinessElite seats in a 2/1/2 configuration (for 6 rows). No word on E+ for these birds, but likely the retrofit to begin in 2011.

Thanks for the info, bmvaughn. I have since updated my fleet tracking spreadsheet.

According to my records, 40 planes are now painted in the new livery. I hated the new livery at first, but I'm now just more excited about the possibility of seeing the entire fleet in one livery.

bmvaughn Dec 26, 2010 1:18 pm

Posted elsewhere, here's the painting schedule for the first planes for each painting line over the next couple of months (info subject to change):
N419UA - 1/3
N501UA - 1/3
N465UA - 1/4
N522UA - 1/5
N852UA - 1/9
N673UA - 1/24
N127UA - 2/1
N668UA - 2/5
N128UA - 2/15
N171UA - 3/1
N180UA - 3/15

2 A320 lines, 2 B757 lines, 1 A319 line, 1 B767 line, 1 B747 line, and the 2 B777 lines (already started)

CO mainline is already over 21% repainted

Crazy. Within the last 5 years N465UA went from battleship colors, to TED colors, to the "white/blue" tulip, and now to the disgusting CO/UA hybrid.

That's a lot of layers of paint! :p

Unless my sources are incorrect, the paint is fully stripped, so not really a "layer".

N789UA, which had been parked in the desert since 2004 until earlier this year, now has an Air India registration. Probably makes sense to get rid of some of the excess planes which have been in the desert - won't need them post-merger.

Looks like with N194UA leaving the fleet, we're back to 359 planes.

Also, the repaints are in full swing, with the first 4 planes listed above going in for paint as well as N781UA.

Had to share...
Speaking with 1K desk agent today booking some TPAC flights. She mentioned casually...

1) UA is running four (4) 747s in the old config in some spots to assist when needed, so there is a chance I will not be on a new config plane.

2) UA already took delivery of a new plane..."dreamliner or something".

You heard it here first...

LMAO... "dreamliner or something"

This is from another tracking site detailing the repainting schedule:

2011
Q1 70AC
Q2 62AC
Q3 58AC
Q4 68AC

2012
Q1 39AC
Q2 22AC
Q3 1AC
Q4 13AC

2013
Q1 12AC
Q2 0
Q3 0
Q4 7AC
Seems odd that only one airfraft would be painted Q3'12, then 13 in Q4'12. And the 2013 schedule is just as odd... maybe the PS aircraft?

I may shed a tear when that first p.s. bird is repainted to the new UA/CO livery. I love the new livery as it is now, and see those p.s. birds at JFK weekly.

Our beloved Tulip has only until 2013.

Hopefully the next CEO reverses this tragic, tragic mistake.

I brought my spreadsheet up to date, and I also created a pie chart so that you can visualize just exactly what the fleet looks like as a whole. Just click on the "Pie Chart" tab. Take a look!

Drool. That spread[sheet] is hot stuff. :p

Now all we got to do is to figure out how to add the CO fleet to the UA Fleet Paint page on the FlyerGuide Wiki.
