London arrival on Xmas - transit available?

Likely arriving on an overnight on Christmas morning to Heathrow. What transit options (bus/rail/underground) from the airport are available on December 25 & 26 and which do not operate at all?

Thanks!

Going from past years...

The Heathrow Express will be running but may be replaced with a bus service.
The tube won't be running at all on Christmas Day but has a limited service on Boxing Day. (Dec 26th).

In summary, I'd say move your journey by a day. It will be possible to get to your destination but it will be expensive.

Local minicab firms will also be operating and when I last had to investigate, they charged a 100% supplement for working December 25th.

Look into getting a car service from Heathrow - if there's more than 1 of you it'll work out cheaper than HEX / taxi combination.

Alternatively get a hotel near Paddington Station - and also sort out what you'll be eating on Christmas Day as most places will be closed or will be doing a pre-reserved Christmas Lunch only

Last question...hope to make it to Manchester to watch City play during our trip. I want to catch a game or two on London though. If we are staying in Central London (near the London eye), what football clubs (Championship or Conference are fine) are nearby?

the closest is millwall, but some fans of this club are reputedly not the friendliest of people. chelsea and arsenal are also easy to reach. fulham ought to be close to chelsea, but i haven't been to the ground.

millwall: south bermondsey railway station (southern railways - one stop from london bridge).
chelsea: fulham broadway underground station (district line).
arsenal: arsenal underground station (piccadilly line).
