Mousetrap
Are 1/2 price tickets normally available for Mousetrap on weekdays? I saw in an older post where the theatre will sell some quality tickets the day or two before a show, is this still true?
Any opinions on the play, there's not much talk about it here.
Thanks!

Mousetrap tickets were available at the TKTS booth at Leicster Square for that day's performance when I was there last week. I'm not sure what the discount is for Mousetrap though. I had VERY good luck with tickets to shows last week from TKTS and will go back on future trips. ^

Not quite true. I consider Mousetrap to be a traditional play before "glitter" and "glamour" and "magic" hit the stage. I have seen it 4 or 5 times in the last 30 years, and it has been fun. It is in a smaller, more-intimate theater.I have to admit, I have never used the TKTS. I'm too chicken at not finding tickets for the shows I want .... and have always bought ahead of time.

I am rather amazed that anyone would see "Mousetrap" more than once, so kevinsac, you have amazed me.
It is not the worst play I have ever seen but it is a long way from being the best. However, if you know the ending going in, it WOULD be a waste of time IMO.

If you click here you will see what shows are onsale at TKTS today. It will only show you today's shows though, and obviously tickets may sell out between them uploading the shows and you getting to the booth, but it's a good indicator as to what is discounting...

TKTS was selling The Mousetrap at full price when I went by there last Saturday (although clearly marked as such) - as it is looking at today's online list. With the commission it costs less to book directly with the theatre.
Personally I wouldn't do it for the Mousetrap, but I have gone to different productions of the same play myself to see different interpretations of the parts.

Saw it in high school, when I did an exchange program in England. (About 1979)
Saw it mid-20s again, when I met up in London with my Mother and some friends who had never seen it. About 1988.
Saw it again in 1994, with my Father, who had never seen it.
And again in 2005.
And despite seeing it so many times, I have to be honest....I can't remember know who did it!
I've enjoyed the performances each time....but I will admit that I am not going back because it's such a spectacular performance. It's a mainstay, and it is not bad.Luckily, on each of those trips, we saw several other plays, too.

Other Shows
I haven't seen MouseTrap, but I have heard some cold reviews about it. I have seen other London shows which I thought were excellent: Wicked, LesMis, Dirty Dancing.
In regards to TKTS, note that there are lots of discounts online, secured tickets that also save you the queuing time. Try Broadwaybox.com/london before taking your chances with the booths.
