even if you need to change trains it’s usually done on the same platform or across the platform to the other line,

Good route advice there from UKtravelbear . Worth keeping an eye on the TfL forward plan of engineering work for works that might impact your journey, it's populated from 6 months ahead and is usually pretty fixed at 2 months ahead. https://tfl.gov.uk/tube-dlr-overground/status/

I did Elizabeth line from T5 direct to Stratford then the DLR direct to LCY, 1 change but it does involve a change of platforms at Stratford (which has a lot of platforms!), It took about 75 minutes from when the train left T5

Between Custom House + bus or Stratford + DLR, I'd just decide on which train is first @ LHR (subject to engineering works, strikes or other incidents, obviously).

Staying at the CP T4, flying out at 06:20 in the morning to GLA. BA, T5.

What do you recommend public transfer-wise?

tfl bus from T4. 482/490. There should be some around 20 past the hour and again at 45 past the hour that time of day. Journey takes around 10-15 minutes.

There is also the H30 bus between T4 and T5, which (unlike other service buses) is free. It's primarily aimed at airport staff but anyone can use it.

Interesting. The H30 runs for free between Heathrow Central and T4/T5 between 0312 and 0505 but there doesn't seem to be any public information online about the alleged T4-T5 service during the rest of the day

Yes there is: https://www.heathrow.com/content/dam...travel-map.pdf
"The free H30 bus runs every 20 minutes between Terminal 4 and Terminal 5 via the Cargo Area from early in the morning until late at night. The H30 bus also serves Hatton Cross, Waterside, Compass Centre and Central Bus Station early in the morning."

Hmm. They haven't put submitted the updated timetable to the government or put it on their own website, but it's Rotala after all

We are landing in T4 at 18:10, and have a connecting flight in T2 at 20:05 on a separate ticket. We are hand baggage only. Is this feasible? Wondering if I should rebook the second ticket for following morning?

On a separate ticket you aren't connecting. You won't have any protection on the second flight if the first is late.

You may think you have 1 hr 55 to make it but you need to knock off the gate close time from that so you're closer to an hour and a half.

Personally I'd fly the next morning even though a hotel will cost (since your arriving at T4 there are 4 hotels connected to the terminal via covered including a Hilton, Crown Plaza, Holiday in and one other whose name escapes me)

If the landing is on time you should make the second flight as long as the airport is operating normally. But there is a reasonable chance of not making it, so you need to have a plan for what to do.

If it would be a financial disaster to miss the second flight, but rebooking it now is free/cheap then that would seem sensible. If you want to take your chances because it's not that expensive to buy a new ticket then that might also be an option.

Flying back to US out of T3 on delta. Is is possible to walk over to T2 to use the plaza premium lounge without having to be rescreened or go through border control again?

No.

in fact you’d be screened three rimes even on the airside route.

on initial entry into T3
on entry into T2
on reentry to T3
