Best cell network around Leeds?
Hey all,
I'm going to be in Leeds and the surrounding area for a couple weeks. I'm looking at mostly data usage, and will be using an unlocked US-based GSM phone.
Who provides the best coverage in that part of the country?
Most plans I'm seeing seem to offer around 2 GB of data, some airtime and texts for around 20 pounds. Are there any better deals?
Thanks!

All of them. The networks all provide national coverage.
Obviously some networks are better in some buildings than others, etc. If you will be at a specific address, you could ask them if any of them have a problem there, but would be a very localised thing if they did.
Similarly if you are going to a very remote location, I would check the coverage.
So you can consult general SIM and tariff guides for the UK without geographic concern.

Of course those coverage maps are only a guide.
In my case, my house is in a UK blackspot with nearly no coverage from UK networks, although I do get occasional connections from French networks.
And yet all of the coverage maps show that I should have something.

If your usage is data-heavy, look at the offers from 3 - I have an unlimited data plan with them for 15/month, and am very happy with the network quality so far (based in London and the East of England).

Thanks.
Is the 15 pound/month data plan available on a pay-as-you go basis?
Some of the all-in-one plans were looking attractive as it would make it easier to keep in touch with my coworkers.

Indeed it is:

Do check 4G coverage maps, however, as this is still being rolled out (my town just got it two weeks ago, for example...)

Cool. Thanks.
I'm not terribly concerned about 4G speeds as I don't think my phone's UK LTE compatible. I'll be using a US phone. As long as i get decent HSPA speed, I'll be happy.

I have the same plan, and I think it's gone up to 18 since October, switched just in time to get locked in at the old price

Voice, text, 500MB data for a month for GBP10: http://store.three.co.uk/view/searchSimOnly?tariff=115
More voice, texts, bottomless data for a month for GBP15: http://store.three.co.uk/view/searchSimOnly?tariff=112
Data only, 1GB for 1 month for GBP10.49: http://store.three.co.uk/view/search...9A?tariff=3003
I use the 3GB for 3 months for GBP20.49 in my iPad, it works well. Since it's cheaper to buy another SIM than top it up, I just throw the SIM away and plug in another one.
Coverage in Leeds is likely to be good for all networks.
