IST-BKK in J. A330 or B777?
Hello guys,
I am planning to fly LON-IST-BKK and i have 2 options fo IST-BKK. Either A330 or B777. Any suggestions? pros and cons? never flew TK long haul. I can combine them if i want? would that be the best option?

I have done both the 777 & the 330. I think all 330's are not flatbeds. They still have the angled ones. If travelling alone aim for the window seat is you get version 3 of the 330 or else take the aisle seats in all other cases.

djjaguar64 please dont give the first thread as a reference. The video being discussed is wrongly labeled. The plane is not a 333 and not from JFK, what is shown is a 332 on a four hour flight.
For long haul flights on TK, you can expect the same lie-flat seats in the 333 as in the 777. Did IST-CPT and JNB-IST in 333s with those.
Even the crusty old 332's are in the process of being rejuvenated, if what is being talked about on German FF forums is correct.

The initial advice provided above is wrong. A332 are not used to/from BKK and certainly not the aircraft in the link (which is very misleading; all J seats to BKK are fully lie-flat seats)
For J pax there is hardly any difference between TK A333 and B77W. The seats and the J experience will be the same.
I prefer the past midnight service from IST as it allows a full day of working before departing on the connecting flight from Europe to IST and also makes sleeping to BKK easier. If you want to fully enjoy the dinner service in J it may be better to choose the early evening flight which allows plenty of time to dine before taking an early rest/sleep. However, keep in mind that for the evening service arrival into BKK will be in the middle of the night UK time - brutaL IMO!

If you re-read my post it does not say that BKK flights are angled. What it says that not all 330's of TK have flatbeds, I am sure the BKK flights just as the KUL flights have flatbeds as I have done these flights. I got the angled seats for a EU flight that we took a few years back.

As much as I know all long haul flights are now flatbeds. I do fly some angled J still, one of which was 10 days ago on a 3 hour flight. Unless there is something else going on this is what you can expect with J on TK these days.
Domestic J- mostly old business seats, which are just economy with no middle passenger. Sometimes you will get the new recliner business seat.
International single aisle- new recliner seats
international wide body up to 6-7 hours- can be angled or flatbed
international long hail- all flatbed.

Let's not confuse the OP: ALL TK aircraft flying IST-BKK vv. have the same flat bed seats in J.
Having flown both their A330 and B777 in the past week in J, I can say that there is minimal difference as long as you avoid the middle seat in the B777. Pick whatever schedule serves you best.

I have never seen non-fully flat A333's on BKK route.

Flew TK J IST-KUL A33X (don't know if it's a 332) and IST-IAH B777, I found the 777 J seats a bit newer but if you are not lucky you'll be in the middle of the 3 seat row which is not that nice. There was NO wifi both ways on the A33X.
