After helping a few friends and relatives, it seems that if they don't respond in 1-3 days, the chances of them ever doing so drops dramatically.
In most instances the match was granted well before the email arrived, which might even end up in the spam inbox.

Got my kit without taking a flight
Match itself was rather quick and kit came about 2 weeks later, complete with *G card (with Dec 2014 exp) and 2 luggage tags. Free club access for 2 years!!
