My finacee and I just used Global Entry for the first time last week returning from Costa Rica.
The best $100 I've ever spent, hands down. It was a welcome sight walking from E Terminal at IAH and seeing the huge mass of people waiting at immigration (about 45 minutes worth we would later find out). Bidding our non-GE friends goodbye, we headed to the kiosk and were finished in about a minute and on our way to baggage. Our luggage was already circling the conveyor waiting for us. Customs had a nice 10 minute or so line, we approached using the empty GE line. When the CBP agent finished with the customer, he stopped the folks trying to approach from the regular line and waved us up. A few quick glances at the GE chit and our Passports and we were out the door. Couldn't have been more than 5 minutes from entering immigration to walking out the door and the includes the walk times as the customs area at IAH is quite large and spread out.
Can't say it enough, get Global Entry. You'll be glad you did.
Can't wait for trusted traveler Pre-Check to come to IAH this year!

As for Nexus/GE, no idea if you can change the application, but unless the issue is that you can't complete Nexus on time (due to the Canada-side interview) you are $50 better off finishing the Nexus application first and then applying to add GE. Most Nexus-holders here have reported the GE application after Nexus is pretty a formality.

The only people who have any issues are older NEXUS members who didn't have all their fingerprints taken. A fingerprint scan, and they're in GE also.
NEXUS renewals will presumably be $50 (that's the current renewal price) but will require an interview at a Canadian pre-clearance airport, one of the US airports that do it (e.g. Seattle Boeing Field) or a NEXUS interview centre on the Canada/US border, as new applications do.

Thanks; yes, I was trying to figure out the current renewal costs to figure out if it is worth it. My mistake in the impreciseness of my question.
The issue is getting to a Canadian facility, which appears to cost more than a new $100 application.

Quick warning for anyone using the GE kiosk at YUL (and presumably other Canadian airports with CBP preclearance). I was accustomed to using GE at other airports in the US, but it works a bit differently in Canada.
You still head straight for the kiosk (2 at YUL as of yesterday, adjacent to NEXUS), but you must present your receipt to the CBP inspector at the passport control. This is different than in the US, where you bypass passport control altogether and just give the receipt after retrieving checked bags, probably because there are no CBP inspectors past the counter so immigration and customs checks are both handled there.
I was in a rush and walked ahead to bypass CBP altogether until I was barked at by a CBP officer.
But it's still nice to have the GE kiosks at YUL.

Pretty sure this wasn't the case the other day at YYZ (Terminal 1). The GE kiosk is on the left, and then you just proceed behind the passport control booths. You hand your receipt to the agent behind the booths, who I believe was the customs agent. I don't recall showing my receipt twice.

Sorry this is probably somewhere in the last 163 pages, but...
Now that Nexus members can have Global Entry benefits, is there any reason to apply for Global Entry for $100 rather than do the Nexus app for just $50? I'm in SEA a lot, so it seems like Seattle Boeing Field would be the place to just get this taken care of with the fingerprints and interview for NEXUS. I want NEXUS because I drive to Canada, but I want GE benefits for TPAC and TATL air travel. Thanks for any advice.

I only have GE because it's hard for me to get to a Nexus station.
