Seriously, how could you calculate a meaningful average? If you fly to or through IAD internationally you should be well aware that waiting times vary wildly.

Depends on so many factors, such as how many aircraft are there, CBP staff working, etc.. Agree with the five minutes to two hours..Originally Posted by USAF Flyboy

I love my Global Entry! Well worth it going through PHL. We came in 5 hours late from TLV and Agriculture had the nerve to make every pax go through an ag screening. As I went to the front of the long line with my passport, it didn't make many people happy but I love all the benefits!

Yes, that's exactly where it is! You come in the International Arrivals Hall to the CBP door- you can see baggage recheck through it- and ring the buzzer. They will come and get you and escort you to your interview.Originally Posted by mechteach
Has anyone been to the Global Entry registration office in PHL? I just received a new passport, and need to pick up a new sticker. When I look at the location map (http://www.globalentry.gov/pdfs/PHL-...ent-Center.pdf), it appears that the office is between passport control and customs there. That can't actually be the case, right?

You get GE benefits with your NEXUS- so you've paid $50 instead of $100 for an extra benefit!Originally Posted by canred
Unfortunately, no. It will not help you entering Canada or entering the US at a Canadian airport with pre-clearance (including YYZ). You need to have NEXUS to help in both these circumstances.

A more helpful way to look at it would be this:Originally Posted by colonius

What is your average time waiting to clear immigration at Dulles? Subtract 1 minute from that. The remainder is the average time saved.
The hang-up at IAD is baggage claim. If you get through immigration in 1 minute, you still have to wait for your bags to appear. If, however, you carry-on then I have taken less than 5 minutes from hitting the arrival hall to sitting in a taxi. On one trip I avoided the immigration lines only to watch passengers from my flight pass me into customs when I had to wait until my bags hit the carousel, just about last.

Gotta love UA baggage claim at IAD - the worst!Originally Posted by drewguy

Good feedback. I've had a couple of trips where I was 15 min through customs, and several close to an hour. Seems like this is worth the time and $$ to sign up.
Completed GE in ATL yesterday, CBP did their job well.
I showed up an hour early, expecting to wait.
There was an another GE applicant 40 mins early.
Within 5 mins interviewer escorted us both to the room,
we signed our disclosures, fingerprinted, put the sticker in,
trained on the machine, and we were off.
A small point, but the validity is 5 years from yesterday,
not 5 years from when I paid the $100 back in January.
My trip to Castro-land decades ago never came up !!

Best $100 I've spent in a while.
Stepped off UA901 FRA-SFO this past Monday with my luggage, walked by another plane that had just finished unloading at least 200 people into the customs line, hit the kiosk, walked out and grabbed a cab.
Plane to curb: 5 minutes. Outstanding.

This program is amazing... the smartest development (and long overdue) that I have seen for years. If you travel with a carry-on, you can be out of the airport in minutes. Yuri

I applied and was approved in September of 2009. My GE membership expires on my birthday (in November) of 2014.Originally Posted by MrHalliday
