TSA PreCheck expiring but Global Entry still valid

Hoping someone here might have some insight for me: I signed up for PreCheck in December 2014 so it's expiring this month, and I have been getting notifications from TSA telling me that I need to renew it. However, I then got Global Entry in January 2017 so it's still valid.

I know that GE also gives you PreCheck, but will that automatically "kick in" once my PreCheck expires? I'm worried because I'll be flying on 12/24 and I think my PreCheck expires before then. Just trying to figure out what I need to do to make sure that my Global Entry status takes over once my PreCheck expires.

(And yes, I'm annoyed at myself for not signing up for Global Entry in the first place!)

Thanks in advance...

I believe that as long as you have a valid known traveler ID (from your GE) in your profile, you should be OK.

And if OP had a KTN from his/her Pre-Check in their profile when the Dec. 24 ticket was booked then it would be a good idea to check that the GE KTN makes it to the reservation.

Just checked and it looks like the KTN I had in my profile was, in fact, the Global Entry one. I think I had put that in there a while ago, now that I think of it. So hopefully it should be seamless.
