Post GEP process for Green Card (non citizen) holders in US ?

My apologies if this is duplicate - but I just didn't find it.
I am an Indian Citizen with Green Card. When I apply for GEP:
1. I choose citizenship as Indian. My question is on that case do I need to do my Background Verification in India? Or as I am an LPR it should take the
2. If situation 1 is true, I assume it will take longer time and have to eventually wait on educating various agencies like PSK etc and physically visiting them. On that case don't you think applying for TSA pre check makes sense (for people whose international travel is less compared to domestic) as it takes less time ?

US Lawful Permanent Residents, e.g., Green Card holders, are eligible for Global Entry regardless of any bilateral agreements with their countries of citizenship. Their applications are processed in a similar manner to those of US citizens. Thus, citizens of India who are Green Card holders do not undergo a background check in India and are not interviewed at a PSK/PSLK office when applying for Global Entry.
