Applied online 061316, recd conditional approval the evening of 070616,Ckg online and end of July was earliest available, but then checked Nogales and they were completely open for interviews, so scheduled for 070816. We waited about 15 minutes and the process for both my spouse and I took about another 15 minutes. I asked the border patrol agent if they were handling a lot of GE interviews (Nogales is at AZ/Mexico border). He said yes, but most were coming from long distances - guy before us was from NY. We received our notification today, 070916 that we are approved - just waiting for card.
Just an FYI , the Border Patrol agent also advised that once we get our GE card, we can just use that to cross the US/ Mexican border and we don't need the passport, however passports still required at airports. Moral of story is once you get conditionally approved if you want next day interview, there's always Nogales AZ. |

Will keep checking but clearly even running 24/7 for 60 days seems to made little difference. :( At the time there was 3 on shift. And just as I left one just came in (starting his shift I guess) There was 1 person that got there about 15 mins after I did and was waiting for the new shift. So they CAN do more than 6 (I saw the clip board that shows the names) and it actually had something like 8 entries on it, which I assume was what they did that shift already, not including me. I guess just have to be nice and hope they are having a good day and might get in even if they have done 6 that shift. Also I think its helpful to be there just BEFORE the new shift comes in (at least seems to be on this weekend crew) Good luck to all Submitted Form on Web: 13 Conditional Approval: 6 Jul (earliest schedule available on that day was 29 Dec) Approved in person: Saturday, 9 Jul PS also guess I was really lucky cuz I didn't bring the Conditional Approval Notification letter. Just the schedule letter, but lucky was able to find me with my Passport. But they really need that 9 digit number in the letter. |

I was approved last week. I live in Western MA, so the closest interview spots are Logan and JFK. The next available interviews in Logan were November (unless I took a work day off-and there were only a few of those). As my overseas trip is near the end of October, I checked JFK and found a spot September 10 at 4pm. There were interview spots early from 7-8:30 am, but as I am taking the train in, that was not going to work. So I signed up for that, and tried to find some sort of reasonable hotel in New York near Penn Station. IHG is having their 15% points and cash sale, so I snagged a room at Staybridge suites for a low cash payment and some points.

Got Lucky. Was going to be in SJ/Bay Area this Saturday night/SUnday. So booked hotel near SFO. Went in @ 1920 and saw sign saying they do up to 6 walk-in "a day". I also saw several people seeming to be waiting, so left. ($2 parking fee). Decided I would come back later in evening. Got there at 2255, no on sitting in chair, 1 person was just going in, waited a few mins CBP officer came out ask if had appointment. Said I did not, but hoping for walk in. Said they already did their 6, but there would be SHIFT CHANGE at 0001 (i.e. midnight) and may be able to get in then. Later another officer said the same. Several other folks showed up and got it during or before their appointment. At 2340 first officer came out again looking for scheduled appointments. When there was none he said, come on in! 10 mins or so later was done.

mdosu, if I were you, I would spend more time finding a close in appointment by doing more searches manually or with a plug in/script. SFO is currently open 24/7, you have an excellent chance of finding an earlier appointment instead of trying your luck as a walk in.

Dumb question, but how do you do more searches with a plug in/script?
I am not tech savvy, I do not know how to use a plug-in/script. I am sure someone else can chime in and help you. I did it the old fashioned way by doing new manual searches constantly; like every 5 minutes or so. I was able to find something close-in (interview date in less than one week) in less than 48 hours. That was 3 years ago for SFO. Now many Global Entry offices are open longer hours; SFO is open 24/7 until 21 Aug 2016. |

I have not used any of the scripts but if you do an internet search you will find some sources.
For example: https://github.com/davidofwatkins/ge...lation-checker And an associated reddit discussion thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/co...try_interview/ Unless you have the requisite technical background, I would be very careful with this. Applied 6/25, conditionally approved 7/13, originally looked at appointments in the DC area in October, but after checking regularly, found an appt on 7/19 at IAD. Check often and be flexible. You'll find something!!

Got approved this weekend and scheduled in Newark for 9/11. Checked this morning and a single slot opened up next week but during a time that wouldnt work for me. I guess Ill keep checking.

I was looking at Houston Downtown for GE appointment and it says "Currently there are no available appointments at this enrollment center. Please check later for openings or choose another enrollment center"
So, I'm afraid they've closed GE at Downtown Houston. Anyone has any recent GE appointments there ?

Does this mean that it's closed or just that every available interview slot has been claimed?
I was getting this message for the last two days, but this morning, had one appointment open up in January. I snagged it, and the next time I went in to schedule it gave me the "Currently there are no available appointments at this enrollment center. Please check later for openings or choose another enrollment center" message. So just keep checking in. |
Today it open wide with lots of open slots from 11/1. So, it appears like its a seasonal location.

From my experience with SFO this weekend, it just means that all the slots in the system have been claimed. You will be able to get back into the calendar if something opens up.

Have you tried to do new searches every 5 or 10 minutes continuously in the last 24 or 48 hours? |
Boston no appointments until next April

SFO just opened up appointments again. I got one for February 2017 today. The whole month is wide open. Given that my Global Entry expires in September, this is rather annoying. Hopefully I can pull of a walk-in at some point prior to that.

Global Entry: Tips for Rescheduling Interviews?
Hi all,
Quick question about Global Entry appointments. The Global Entry interview center at San Fran is all booked up until February. They told me on the phone I can keep checking back to try to reschedule my appointment at an earlier date in case someone cancels their appointment, but that I have to be really "fast" about it. I've checked back over the last past two weeks and have never found any earlier openings. I don't understand in principle how you can be "fast" about it considering that someone could cancel their appointment at any given time of the day, meaning you would theoretically have an equal chance of finding an open slot no matter what time of the day you log in to check. Unless anyone is aware that, rather than the calendar updating automatically when someone cancels an appointment, there is a set time each day of the week that they update their calendar with new time slots due to cancelled appointments? Any other tips to try to get a better interview scheduled? Would appreciate any insight so I can try to get in there before Feb of next year, thanks! |
I went from February to today just by constantly refreshing every five minutes. Gotta be dedicated.

As AREsq said, keep checking either manually and/or with a plug in/script. If you do a new search every 5 to 10 minutes for the next 48 hours, you are very likely to find something for the next two weeks. SFO is now open 24/7 til 12 Aug 2016 and extended hours thereafter, your chance is excellent. You have to be persistent. Good luck and let us know your result. |

One thing worth noting: I was sitting in the ORD office yesterday when a pilot walked in and said that he'd just scheduled a same-day interview via GOES. The agent manning the front desk told him tough luck, they weren't accepting same-day appointments. (They were running 50 minutes behind schedule, so that's understandable.) Might want to call the office to confirm before you head to the appointment.

Sorry to hear that. It is very hard to believe that all slots are taken as SFO is open 24/7 til 12 Aug 2016 and extended hours thereafter.

Maybe that pilot should have rephrased his sentence; I have an appointment today at XX:XX. End of sentence. It does not matter when his appointment was made, as long as it was confirmed online with a print out or screen shot.

I keep refreshing and SLC is now booking into March 2017. Sigh. Haven't seen anything sooner than my appointment yet.
ETA: looks like I need to stop over in Miami ;) |

There are actually several locations you can obtain a next day appointment. When I have time, I will list them in http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...id=22732's wiki.

btw, this is slightly off thread -- is everyone being forced to go in for an interview to renew GE, or am I "lucky" ? |
