I believe I have read a directive about "electronics stacked on top of one another" or similar language needing to be taken out of the bag. If this is correct, does it apply if, say, I slip my iPad into the same compartment of a laptop bag housing my laptop? That's easily solvable, and I don't imagine that it would apply to an iPad and laptop housed separately in, say, a backpack, but stacked save for dividers in the bag.

Using PreCheck for 1st time at LGA
I even have the ID card. So will I be able to leave on both my shoes (hiking boots) and my belt? The quart-sized clear bag can stay in the carry-on? I know the TSA Pre-Check rules state that:
https://www.tsa.gov/tsa-precheck
....but is that the reality at Terminal C or D at LGA? Thanks.
No need to remove:
Shoes
Laptops
3-1-1 liquids
Belts
Light jackets

I take it that what you mean to ask is whether by virtue of GE, you are eligible for Pre-Check? The answer to that is yes. You won't need the card, Pre-Check should appear on your BP and, if it does, you may use the Pre-Check lanes / checkpoints.
You've answered your own question as to the rules. They are on the TSA website at the link you posted.

For TSA Pre to work, you need to add your GE number (known traveler number) when making the reservation. Then the boarding pass will be tagged accordingly.
Best to add GE # into all your frequent flyer accounts so permanently on file.

That's what I suspected. Delta at either at Terminal C or D at LGA. What can I expect?

I have gone through the metal detector wearing a denim jacket with metal buttons often, the agents when asked have said to try it first, and if it beeps, then send the jacket through x ray. I would leave the boots on unless there's a steel shank. Yes, you leave your laptop and toiletries inside.

You use the PassID number, which starts with 98, on the back of your GE card as your Known Traveler Number in your airline profile. It serves the same purpose. You were not issued a separate TSA PreCheck number.

The biggest caveat is that your boarding pass must state that you can use the Pre-Check line. Even though you have a KTN and are eligible for Pre-Check, it doesn't mean you will get it 100% of the time.
What the website says. No, really. Take anything metal out of your pockets, keep your shoes & belt on, put your carry-ons on the scanner belt, walk through the metal detector, and pick up your carry-ons. It's like traveling pre-9/11.
If you bought plane tickets before you were issued your KTN number, you need call in and make sure your KTN is entered by the CSR into your existing record(s).
I have a GE# that I did add to the reservation; I don't think I was issued a separate TSA Pre-Check #.
