I guess $50 a pop is not nearly enough to hire an army of processors. Or maybe it is.

Happily, there were only three cars ahead of me at the border on my way home to Connecticut for my last non-NEXUS drive.
We originally scheduled my wife's interview at YUL for next Monday, but a slot opened up today for this Friday, and we jumped at that. I probably wouldn't have looked as frequently to reschedule without the information I'd read on this forum. Thanks, all!

Finally got conditional approval and snagged an appt this week!
My EDL is up for renewal later this year, once I have a Nexus, is there any reason I should keep an EDL instead of a regular license? The only thing I can think of is forgetting the Nexus and still being able to use the regular lanes, but that doesn't worry me much.

What is the cost of the EDL vs. a regular DL for you? I'd lean don't bother with the EDL unless it was minimal difference in cost. Of course, if you forget the NEXUS even once in five years, maybe having the EDL saves you the gas/time cost of a trip back to wherever your NEXUS card is right away.

It's $54 every 6 years, so comparable to the Nexus cost. Effectively I would be paying twice if I keep both. But the Nexus seems more versatile (fast lane, air travel) and as far as I can tell there is nothing I can do with my EDL that I can't with my Nexus (except driver of course).

Thanks a lot to everyone. If not for the advice here I'd never have checked this frequently to see if there are any earlier opening, and am really surprised that there are so many changes throughout an afternoon!
