Global Entry interview today -- 2 concerns

My interview is this evening at IAD (ugh... traffic)

1) I don't remember all the countries I've visited -- not a ton but at least 30-35 or so... Am I expected to remember them all off the top of my head?

2) My driver's license no longer has my correct address. I have filed a change of address with DMV, so it's correct "in the computer," and have the paper somewhere (that I think I'm supposed to keep with my DL at all times...oops), but I may not be able to find that. Big deal?

Any other tips from those who have done it at IAD? Do I just park hourly?

You seriously think they'll make you name all the countries you've been to?

They will ask you where you've travelled on your current trip. If you can't remember all of the countries' names, write them down.

Stop! Why would you show them your driver's license in the first place? Show them your passport. Your address isn't on it. Done. No more concerns. ^

RE: #1 they ask you to name them all in your initial application. I just want to make sure it doesn't come off as suspicious that I no longer know the full list.

Good idea RE #2

Since you've visited that many countries, I think they'll cut you some slack. They seem mostly interested in "sketchy" countries you may have visited, like Pakistan or Sudan. In my interview, they asked why I went to India (which I wouldn't think of as "sketchy" but who knows).

When I filled out the application I left off Canada. My interviewer clearly had my actual county list on his screen and asked "didn't you also go to Canada", and before I could think I blurted out "I don't think of Canada as a foreign country." He passed me anyway.

I just completed the interview about a month ago at the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit. From what I've seen on FT, the questions and process varies slightly from location to location. Here's what happened to me in regards to your questions:

1) They did ask me to name all the countries I'd been to (verbally). The agent looked like she was checking them off the list on the screen. I don't think I got all of them, but the agent basically just moved on to the next question. Also, I hadn't been to any questionable countries (primarily Caribbean and Europe).

2) I was required to give my driver's license at the interview. My driver's license had the wrong address but there was no mention that it didn't match what was on the application. I brought along a copy of my mortgage, insurance, and a recent utility bill just to be sure. The agent didn't ask to see them.

#1 - get the list from your passport stamps/visas and write them down. you can use cheat sheets during the interview. Been there, done that. worked. BTW...., they know where you've been as first stop out of the US and coming back.

#2 - no need to worry about that.

good luck

The online application asks about "countries other than the United States, Canada, and Mexico within the past 5 years", so listing Canada would be like listing the United States (well, not quite so silly).

You don't need to do anything with the countries. Cheat sheet? LOL

It's an American government department: anything asinine is possible. I got asked to name the first four presidents, to which I replied I had no idea and cared even less given they were well dead. We got back on track after that.

Yep, I forgot Canada as well and was asked about it. I sheepishly said the hotels on the other side of Falls have better rate and better views.

OP has no reason to worry.

I've been to 100+ countries,
but the 5-year window cut it down to maybe 30.

I just had a printout of my online application with me as a "cheat sheet",
but no questions along that line were asked.

Seriously??

90% of my "interview" was the fingerprinting and instructions on how to use the kiosk.

This. My interview was just fingerprinting. I was in and out in 3 minutes.
