Late last week a spot opened up for this morning at O'Hare - I quickly grabbed it.
Process today was quick - I arrived right at my interview time - was seen right away, and was out the door with my approved Global Entry/New Precheck number in 5 minutes. Global Entry card should arrive at my home address within a week to 10 days according to the USCBP agent who processed me.
So, if no interview availability, keep checking the website for closer/sooner interview dates.
Good luck everybody.

Applied May 11, 2019. I am now at day 123, no update yet. Seeing the recent posts, it seems like I should stop checking for another month. Pretty soon "no imminent travel" turns into "well I traveled and still not approved". But based on 2 other experiences (2 folks who applied 5/1 and 5/7) I feel there is still a chance of approval (CA) next week in the 125-130 day range. Let us see.

I received an update on my case this morning. They stated that it is not taking 3-5 months for application review and escalating only makes sure your application was routed to the correct department.
"Due to the crisis at the southern border, as well as an increase in the popularity of the Trusted Traveler Programs, we are currently experiencing delays in processing times for both new and current applications. At present, average processing times are roughly 3-5 months for Global Entry and NEXUS, and 8-10 months for SENTRI. However, these estimates are subject to frequent revisions, as new data becomes available. We are aware that this is an inconvenience for many applicants and are working to improve processing times.
If your request for a status check has been escalated, then it is being reviewed for any needed action. Please note that escalations merely ensure that your application has been routed correctly. Applications cannot be expedited. Please continue to check your TTP dashboard for status updates."
Today marks 4 months since I submitted my application.

I applied May 20 and am still pending review. My wife applied the same day and was CA after a few days. Is there a certain period that she has to obtain the interview or can she just wait until I get CA? We don't live near an interviewing location and were planning to do our interview on a arrival on an upcoming trip.
