Applied for my husband on May 19 and got CA on 10/11. 144 days.
As far as interviews, the only place in Southern California that has any dates for the foreseeable future is Calexico - on the border of Mexicali. Lucky for us, it is only a 2 hour drive which is about the same as if we went to LA or San Diego.
So for anyone is Southern California, consider a field trip to Calexico. Should be fun.
Good luck all.
PS - someone sent me a private message but my pop up blocker wouldn't allow me to open it - so whoever sent it, sorry I didn't respond.

I found this forum a few weeks ago when researching the Global Entry process. I found this thread particularly helpful and would just like to give back. I have read much of this thread and know that my experience is not typical.
Applied: 15 October 2019
Conditionally Approved: 20 October 2019 (This surprised me because I was not expecting any movement on a weekend.)
Took the first available appointment for an interview in STL which was March 2020. Later that day I checked the calendar and saw an opening for 21 October 2019.
Interview in STL: 21 October 2019
Approved: 21 October 2019
I have no idea why I was CA so quickly. I will say I was born in the U.S, no foreign travel since 2009, and no criminal history of any kind. I also have an unusual name so there is not much chance of people with names similar to mine being on a watch list.
My advice to people unfamiliar with the process: Take the first available appointment for your interview and then check the schedule multiple times a day until you find a better time. I believe you can reschedule the interview as many times as you want.
Hope this helps somebody.

I applied: May 24
CA : May 29
Husband applied: May 24
CA: Today (October 22). Just short of the 5 month mark.
No appointments in Riviera Beach, FL until December 31. No appointments at all in FLL. We will probably do a walk at the Riviera office as it is 10 minutes from our house.

In the desktop version, Private Messages can be accessed via the MyFlyerTalk link on left of the blue navigation bar near the top of the page or from the drop down menu at that displays by clicking on your user name at the top right of the page.
In the mobile version, click on the the hamburger menu (the three horizontal lines) at the top left of the page and select messages.
And now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

Applied: 9/25/19
CA: 9/29/19
Interview: 9/30/19 (Long Beach, CA. Took a full day of checking but got lucky with a cancellation so keep checking! prior to that, the soonest available was late April 2020).
Approved: 10/22/19 (yes... 22 days after interview. My account remained CA and indicated I had interview scheduled that whole time... stressful but over)

government shutdown
I hate to bring to all of us some negative news with my first post here but there is a real possibility of the government shutdown (considering current political state of affairs) starting November 21st and if this happens our wait times for CU will be even longer
I applied on June 28th and I don't count those days anymore...
