And secondly, here's the so-called Lesser Quarter, Prague in August 2005. (It was a most enjoyable summer )

Based on a few hilarious comments from 'friends', it seems that not everyone appreciates urban street construction! So, I offer a second entry:

Bali

Bens Viande Fumee

When preparing for a visit to Montreal, Canada (YUL) I was doing some research and came across a great thread on what was to me the unknown phenomena of Montreal's famous Smoked Meat or Viande Fumee. Although the temperature was -24.3 celsius, the coldest March 6 on record, I ventured out in search of this delicacy. Although I found Schwartz's, the locals were telling me that Bens was the best. I happened by the site of Ben's and this is the streetscape that I found. The restaurant in an old building is closed down, a newer building int he background. On the windows of Ben's are Wanted posters of the former employees. The posters seem to have been put up by the employees as they state the the pictured employees are Wanted by the patrons.

A closeup picture of the Wanted posters is available as well.

When the topic turns to architecture I have some nice distance shot of buildings. But since we are on Urban Streetscapes I figure this one is perfect. And of course we are on a SPG points stay at the time! Notice the woman calling to her daughter to get out of the way of the unruly mob and the vehicles coming around the bend!

Wow folks, I go out for an afternoon of shopping and come back to a slew of great new images! ^

To those of you who have sent me larger images to resize, I have already uploaded those larger photos to the gallery site where they will be viewed during the week of voting.

This is irrespective of the size of your image currently displayed in this thread. Since I'm not a moderator I do not have the ability to edit any post other than my own.

If you have contacted me for help in creating a larger image, do not worry about the contest posting deadline coming up shortly. If you get a larger image to me before the end of the voting period, I will make sure it is resized and placed in the gallery.

Cheers,

Rick
