What a great TR - that’s the kind of trip I’d like to do!
You mentioned in the comments you bought groceries - was it hard finding everything you needed for a meal or was it reasonable? (I’m not talking about “oh, no truffle oil today” but more on the order of “no meat todya, trucks comes next weekl
also, now secure did you feel? Were you ever worried about being really alone in the wilderness?
Thanks again for the trip report!

Basically, I took the approach "Walk like you belong". Body language can say a lot to both human and animal predators. Walk like I could be a predator - with purpose, no day pack, no camera. Bottom line for me - no problem. That day.
Out in Namib Desert, we were told to be alert to out surroundings, but otherwise, no worries.

Security wasn't an issue outside of Windhoek. In town, we were in by nightfall, but during the day we felt totally safe.

Well it's about time! Honestly, dfw, this is great stuff, with which you have immediately solidified your standing as an A Lister in the realm of trip reporting
I've gone on record as stating my primary interest in trip reports is reading about getting there - preferably in First Class - but every now and then a writer comes along such as eightblack or yourself who capture my literary fancy - this trip starting with the introduction of the dfw88 family. What a great start!
So I'm only about a third of the way through. I'll check back upon completion 🐘 🦁 🦒 🏜
