Stop 2 is Tendinha which has been around since 1840

This stop is a cod croquette and a glass of green wine

The croquettes are good, a reasonable bite for €2

Good day. I always enjoy your reports, although anonymously, as I seem to be [ARG:4 UNDEFINED] today. I think I was [ARG:6 UNDEFINED] a few days ago.

The food tours are a great concept and I need to become more aware of those in my travels. Thanks for the reminder.

Not to take this off track, and there are probably lengthy threads in other forums, I'm curious about a couple of things. It seems as if ATC adjustments are common in the UK. Based on years of data, and various AI tools that are available, I'm curious as to why flights aren't just scheduled realistically (taking into account weather). And according to your pics (and other reports), does LHR, at least, not have domestic to domestic transfers without going back through security? I've only been at LHR either as the endpoint or on an international transfer.

Looking forward to the continuation!

Heathrow has such a tight schedule that a feather blowing across the runway starts all the domino’s falling, there’s no flex whatsoever.

Stop 3 is Manteigaria Silva

This group is not really gelling, each set of attendees are sticking to themselves

A cheese ‘dessert’ called Romeo and Juliet, cheese and quince on cornbread. Accompanied by a small Croft Port

‘Meh’ to both, I was spoilt in the CCR yesterday

Stop 4 is A Ginjinha

Right next door is Nata portuguesa which our guide does not recommend but he has given me a recommendation for alter

Our tour guide got fed up waiting and we moved on to another one, Ginjinha Sem Rival

Interesting, wouldn’t want a lot of them

Stop 5, Inhaca Marisqueira for white wine and grouper and prawn stew

The wine is Talentus and is very easy drinking

Damn, does that look good. Is there a Francesinha in your future?

I keep thinking that I should visit Portugal, but its just so far, despite being on the continent. And then its expensive to get there. Ah well, TAP has a good business class product, maybe I should just bite the bullet.

Love Lisbon!

If youre planning on picking up natas to take back and wont have time to get the O.G. ones from Pastis de Belm (in Belem), then I recommend Manteigaria; there are a few around Lisbon, and this is their logo, as there are many similarly named establishments!

I also recommend heating them for no more than 5 seconds to revive them, if theyre a day old (theyre no good after that and should be eaten fresh).

Hey ID90_J , your recommendations are exactly the same as the tour guide

Manteigaria is the next stop once I finish stuffing my face with Chorizo

And so to….. the hotel!

I started heading to Manteigaria and after a few minutes I was met with this

Most of the food tour was slow walking and standing and my back was already screaming at
me and so I decided that I really didn’t NEED Pastel de Nata, performed a rapid volte face, and headed back to the hotel.

If you’re read a few of my reports you may have noticed my avoidance of long queues etc, it’s not that I’m just impatient, I also cannot stand/slow walk/steep climb etc for any period of time. It’s something I manage and don’t really make a fuss about, but bad enough to honestly justify one of these.

Having retreated to the hotel I’m now comfortably sitting in that little bar opposite and enjoying one of these in the sun

The next tour starts in a couple of hours time so there may be a few more to keep that one company

Excellent TR! Hope to get some recommendations, as soon I will be going to Lisbon for a few weeks, and hope to have some addresses to start my experience

Stop 1 would be my recommendation from the first tour, and have both mustard and Piri Piri on the sandwich, that was simple but really good.

There was also this recommendation list from the tour guide
