They're both great museums and Heidelberg being nearby is a nice town to spend the night. Reachable from FRA.
Unless something changes, or a great fare just happens to coincide, count me out from BKK. I'm done with flying Y on longhaul if I can the least bit avoid it, and premium cabins are way too much to fill under funny flying budget.

For the BA\OW folks I could add that UK-BKK in J is also relatively cheap in cash and doable as a BAH for double TPs
As Catweazle intimated, I would probably also go for a 'reach' destination beyond BKK. But I suspect that we are in the minority there. If those work, they seem to be done as optional add-ons not actual destinations for a do.

Sinsheim has been on my list for a while. Wouldn't say no. Not sure about beer garden, I don't drink beer but I am sure they serve different drinks

Argh, I'm pulling my afro out because I just saw this thread. I'm in Dubai, and Singapore is my favorite city on the entire planet. Nuts. I'll be monitoring this closely because I'm down to clown wherever the next one ends up being located since Dubai is in such a good location to get to either Europe or Asia.

I would definitely be enthused to do a BKK do, and I have some contacts who I could tap into regarding chartering a train carriage to go to Kanchanaburi and tour the Bridge over the River Kwai and the Death Railway, and organising some street food tours, and visiting the floating markets.
Definitely plenty to do in BKK and some very photogenic places not far from the city and within the city.

I could be interested, for sure. It'd be great fun, and cool to meet some of our well traveled brethren and hear their stories in person. As with many here, so much depends upon location, date and personal availability. Imagine if we all booked rooms aboard a train somewhere - say, the Caledonian Sleeper or the Empire Builder - or met upon an Emirates A380. The lounge would be crackin'!
