Another excellent TR from Uncle T! How I've missed them, so glad to have yet another episode in your travel diary. Thank you.
I have taken on board your comments regarding accommodation in Antigua and will remember this should we ever get there.

I was looking at google maps yesterday and realised the journey from my house to Gatwick is longer than the actual flight to Antigua. As you had, it makes the journey so much longer and difficult, especially after an overnight

Thanks for trip report. Making me excited for ours. Accommodation looks lovely.

Just two months left till our trip.. after many cancellations. Cautiously optimistic this one may actually happen.

currently, I think it is all viable.

LHR - AMS on BA.
AMS - CUR (Curaao) on KLM
7 nights in Curaao.
CUR - AUA (Aruba)
8 nights in Aruba
AUA - MIA on AA
7 nights in Florida (taking 5yo to Disney)
MIA - LHR on AA.

anyone see any problems here (covid wise) for fully vaccinated U.K. residents/passport holders.

@Hawes7701 … wow, that’s some trip! Looking forward to your TR on that one. Too many Government/C-19 hurdles for my taste … but good luck to you all!

Your question better asked in a different Forum, of course!

thank you. I am hoping to do my first to report of the back of it.

Know its a bit complicated but getting 3x business class rewards is tough so went were we could get availability.

Plus, found out wife is pregnant so getting in one last big trip while we can.

of course, your absolutely right. I will pose the question elsewhere - pretty sure it ticks the boxes as of now.

Glad you enjoyed the TR. But that wasnt a long flight the 3 days to get to Maui, and the 36 hour run home, we called Long 😎

Aloha again, to OGG with BA & AA in the good seats.
Pictures sadly refuse to display, despite frequent repair attempts!

I guess we all lost bargain fares. Must always laugh when I get the message: Great deal toLima or Rio. Sure, the deal is great but pretty impossible to use.

Nevertheless I'm happy to did it to caribbean finally and while it's surely not the perfect time it still looks stunning.

A Tr report from T1891 what luxury

sitting here in Sydney, with our borders closed since March 2020, and now on another lockdown where you can only go 5 Km from your home - and then with a good reason, the luxury of lounges and lying in the Antiguan sunshine seems like a fantasy dream.

Went thru Antigua airport yesterday (Friday). Arrived a little early with no other planes. Cabin crew kept everyone seated (eventually) and disembarked by row numbers from 1L. Antiguan authorities checking that everyone was wearing a mask on leaving the plane, including anyone who claimed exemption. Clear rule, no mask no getting off the plane.

Empty hall for temp check, then health paperwork, then immigration before bag collection and customs. This took less than 30mins. Getting rental car was no problem once I found where to go as there were no signs. Took 20mins for manual paperwork (and dont forget the 20usd cash for the temporary driving license). Car had seen better days, but not as bad as the roads since they are truly awful. The max speed of 40mph is an aspiration at best😂
