I think that both Chicago and Cleveland will be in the playoffs for the next few years. Very exciting - I do hope for game 7 (my wife is from Chicago), but we have been telling our son that just making it to the WS is a big accomplishment. His Giants have won 3 WS in both our lifetimes and I'm thrilled to see someone else getting it :-).
Although a Tribe win would be a lot more enjoyable.
Thank you 757 and brg.
Awesome trip report SFO777!
I went to the games the past two nights, and even though the Cubs lost, there are no words I can use to describe the experience. It's neat to see some pics from CLE, did you notice many Cubs fans? The CLE fans weren't loud at all Friday, but I did hear and see some last night at the game.

Another enjoyable TR to read. You make us feel like we're on the trip along with you. And I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one that has spent a night or two in a hotel bar when the hotel is sold out. If fact, its a fun way to meet people. Looking forward to your next trip report in November
What's happening in November?
Enjoy the game and experience. Unfortunately, I won't be there tonight but will be watching at home. Go Tribe indeed!

Unfortunately, I didn't go to game 5. But it was still awesome to go to 3&4.

Thanks fivevsone.
No. I'll be at home watching, that is if I can stand to watch. But the TV will be on Mute so I don't have to listen to the effing Cub-loving FOX announcers. Too bad I can't sync up the Tribe radio broadcast with my TV.
Yeah, amazing weather for November in CLE. I just checked Stubhub and prices actually seems lower than Game 1 prices. Go Tribe!!

Almost everyone I've talked with has ranted about the Fox coverage, me included.

It's embarrassing to watch, like amateur hour compared to the excellent and genuinely funny TNT NBA gang.
And for those in Cleveland, I've been soaking up the atmosphere this afternoon listening to Triv's show on WTAM. ^

do you not get TBS? buck martinez who does all our jays, or at least most of them, was great. totally balanced in my view. i don't know what fox was like. only watched it after TBS cut off and then i swapped over for WGN and by then, i was drinking rather large glasses of nikka at almost 2am...made for a rough start at 7am this morning.

And as bad as Buck and Smoltz are, those pre-game clowns are even worse. Totally unwatchable.

Game 7
As a big Cubs fan I flew in for game 7 with a bunch of friends. Perhaps the best baseball game I've ever seen. Felt a tad bit bad for the Indians though. Especially considering half the stadium were cubs fans. A few Indians fans went out and blogged that we were horrible and obnoxious. Mostly true.
Best part is that I dont think CLE has seen that many private planes before ever. We flew into Burke lakefront and it was a madhouse of birds. Leaving after the game was complete cluster. Storms came in and then ATC boy let us fly out every 10 min. Wanted 15 miles between planes. So we waited 3.5 hrs on tarmac. Not totally awful BBC hey we were in a really nice big bird (heavy legacy), giddy with a WS win, and still drunk-ish. But didn't make it home to chicago until 7am. MDW was fogged in and pilots took us to dupage airport. Which none of us knew where that was. Basically it felt like landing in Iowa.
Nothing like the excitement of flying to playoff baseball and a game 7. Especially seeing two great teams that both deserved to win.
