Eastern Orient Express
Just wondering if anyone has taken this trip between bangkok and Singapore (or vice versa)? I have an opportunity to try it out when I am in Singapore and wonder if it is worth the cost ($1350).

I did this trip from Bangkok to Singapore in August 2005. It really is a great experience. The service, food and atmosphere is really First Class. I was warned prior to taking the trip that sleeping can be somewhat challenging due to the movement of the train, however, took a sleeping pill and had no problem at all! You can mingle easily with fellow passengers in the Bar compartment or Observation Deck. In the evening, there is entertainment in the Bar area. Let me know if you need any further information. Enjoy!

One tenth the cost, good quality and a really nice way to experience Malaysia and Thailand. Two scheduled stops / transfers along the way so you can enjoy.
