TVC - DTW- DSM on NW
Since I haven't flown Northworst for some time, I thought I'd try them again. Instantly, memories of why I devoted to Delta came flooding back!
Check in: LINES. Elasped time in first class line, 25 minutes.
Boarding: 30 minutes past departure time.
Plane: New DC9 - nice for a small plane. Big overhead bins!! Small first class seats.
No drinks or any amenities served to first class cabin on the ground.
On pushback, remember we are running late, we are advised that we are now "too heavy", and must burn fuel on the ground to take off. (How hard is it to project this kind of situation???)
On arrival into DTW, our gate is blocked by "some ground equipment". 5 minutes laters we arrive. No NWA agent at the gate. Still waiting for my connection.
Sign me, NOT HAPPY with NW.
PS, I now FULLY understand why they are being sued, and would offer that it would not suprize me to see them falter and go the way of the underlings (Eastern, PSA, etc.)

Boy, things sure haven't changed...
Both my wife & I used to fly Nothworst a lot, but gave it up for DL & UA approx. 5 yrs ago.
Sounds like it is still a wise decision. We still have a couple Fly/Write Tickets that we give away to family, friends, etc. I'd rather see them expire than use them...

Thanks for your input! Yesterday's return trip was uneventful, though still arriving almost 40 minutes late in perfect weather conditions.
An upside, the Mesaba air RJ 85 aircraft was a great little plane, musch better than the DC9. Bigger first class seats and more room in general.
