How long can they be?
I have a couple of trip reports that I think others would enjoy, but they range from about 12K to 20K. Is this too big? Are brief summaries of trips more important?
Or, as the first one to post, do I get to set the tone?

Go for it! If people think they are too long, then you might create a link to your website (if you have some space) like I did for the Star Alliance comparison charts.
