at Borobudur. On our first day we went unprepared and survived only 15 minutes.
Came back the following days before sunrise and it was much better.
The secret is to come just before sunrise (earlier is a total waste of time)
and enjoy a short break when the "sunrise tour" people are leaving
and the regular crowds not there yet. You get 1/2 hour of an almost empty monument
and the best photographic light.
We did it every day when we were there.
