I used this TR as a frame of reference (Thank you, btw) for my trip to Eastern/Central Europe that started in Prague last month. I memorized almost all the pictures here and I pretty much jumped off my feet when I came across this.

Great narrative and an uncanny eye for capturing the different aspects of the city (I especially love the depictions of people going about their daily lives).

I admit that like arlflyer, I had the mental image of an over-touristed destinatio , but after this I will consider going soon.

And for Americans who suffer having to listen to concerts in huge multi-purpose halls, your concert photos are a reminder of the joy of hearing music in appropriately sized venues.

I am planning to visit Prague in August with my family. How many days do you recommend to spend in this great city?

Atleast 3 days. YMMV, but I could do the must do things in 3 days and spent the fourth day just aimlessly walking. I could have done that for another day or 2.

There is an old town tower on the old town side of Charles Bridge. It has spectacular views of Charles bridge, palace and the Vltava river.
