Peter01 way off the mark, clubs like Muirfield are very reasonable - under a grand a year - as they have extremely tough entrance requirements. It's the new money places that cost the earth.

I was going to write a post about a grand a year being "not reasonable" for most folk—then I realized that, to be fair, entrance to the CCR club costs substantially more and probably offers less.
