Mexico & Cuba:Bis class w/ LH on Boeing 747-8i, OS new bis seats

Hi guys,

Last October/November, I was able to visit Cuba and Mexico for the first time, making them my 36th and 37th visited countries respectively. I flew with LH on the Boeing 747-8i from FRA-MEX bis class and with OS with the new bis seats from JFK-VIE. I still have a lot to learn from you guys and I will continue reading all your trip reports for tips.

Sorry if it took me awhile before I could learn how to upload pictures here on FT.

Thanks FlyingDoctorwu We actually bought a separate ticket from Interjet MEX-HAV and stayed in Havana for 4 nights at the Hotel Conde de Villanueva which was a very nice hotel close to St. Francis Square.

Meal from the LH flight Stockholm to Frankfurt in business class

Because we had Star Alliance Gold Status, Mike and I decided to visit the newly opened Maple Leaf Lounge at Frankfurt International...so Lovely

The beautiful 747-8i flying us from Frankfurt to Mexico City

Predeparture drink: a glass of bubbly

Business class cabin on the upper deck with 2-2 configuration

The appetizer, trout and char with cucumber salad was excellent

Main Course: Prime boiled beef with horseradish cream.

Second serving: Goulash soup with seasonal salad..

The food tasted excellent and the cabin attendants were friendly. The seat turns into a fully flat bed and was quite long so it was a plus After more than 12 hours of flying, we arrived in Mexico City and spent a night at Double Tree by Hilton Mexico City Airport Area. The following day, we took the interjet flight to Havana and stayed there for 4 nights

The Havana Cathedral

The Capitol, marks the 0 kilometer of Cuba's highway system

The Christ of Havana is located in Casablanca

Don't forget to enjoy your own mojito when in Cuba

The old cars of Havana...

We really had a wonderful time in Havana with all the interesting sights to visit, although Mike and I thought it is always better to travel with a group to avoid people approaching you and asking for a dollar or so..

Back to Mexico, we started our tour in the city..

The Cathedral Metropolitana took around 3 centuries to complete..

Museo de antropologia is definitely a must visit in Mexico City

Basilica de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe is located in the North of the city..

Palacio Bellas Artes is definitely an extravagant and huge building worth visiting

Torre Latinoamericano was Mexico's first skyscraper, built in 1956

Next stop: Teotihuacan...

Piramide del Sol is Teotihuacan's foremost landmark.

Piramide dela Luna is actually smaller than the Pyramid of the Sun but since it is built on higher ground, their tops are actually at the same level.

Cathedral of Merida is the oldest Cathedral in mainland america

Monumento Ala Patria..a Maya inspired modern art worth visiting when in Merida

On the way to Cancun, we visited the most important part of our tour..

Chichen Itza, voted one of the New 7 wonders of the World in 2007

Piramide del Adivino in Uxmal

After having lots of good memories visiting the wonderful places in Mexico, it was time to head back home.

The Entertainment screen with high resolution

Lovely breakfast...

The flight with Austrian was really enjoyable, having excellent food and great service. Their new business class seats were impressive although there could still be room for improvement.

We had more than enough time in Vienna so we decided to have a quick tour of the city

Back to the Airport, we had access to the Austrian Lounge

Our dinner on the Austrian flight from Vienna to Stockholm and then...Home sweet home We really had a wonderful time visiting Cuba and Mexico and flying with Lufthans and Austrian long haul.
