Great trip report! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and, as others have said, get a real feel for the aircraft from your descriptions. Well done!

It is a matter of personal taste.
Stuffing 9 suites in the pointy end of a 747 does make it full but once you are in your suite you lost the urge to care .
The A380 definitely has a more premium feel. The 77W IMHO is just too old. It is very nice but much better it it had been maintained a bit with a perspective it might need to be used longer. 3 flight attendants yanking on the doors with full force to try and close them does not do much for the premium feel

If there are 9 seats in First class then you got the newest one. 10 seats are the shell seats (flat) and 12 seats which is the oldest type but I believe there are only 2 of those left.
I can do a quick check online if you have the flight number and the date.

Hey Globalist, I just read that you have the possibility to check for the seat configuration of thai airways? I'm flying first class to BKK in October... Could you be so kind and check, if I can get excited for a new first class in the 747?
Departure in LHR, Oct 19th with TG911
Return to MUC, Nov 2nd with TG 924 or Nov 2nd also with TG 924.
Thank you very much for your help!
Best Regards!

The TG924 on the 2nd of November shows 10 seats making it the shell seat first class seats which is not the oldest kind and I have always liked that one too but not as good as the suites.
As you probably know, TG is notorious for last minute equipment swaps so it might change, that said in the 8 years I have flown with them it only happened to me once.
