A lot of my favorites are already listed, especially the legendary "8 Bottles of Dom."
Of the newer reports, I believe that two of the best are Daniel W's Syria report (already noted several times) and FlyIgglesFly's "Double Shot of Minsk":

This story about a trip to Minsk (an otherwise boring town) is absolutely mind-blowing.

I really enjoyed this one:

edit:
This report is quite interesting as well

Airline lounges and first class seats do blur together after a while. It's the unique experiences and insiders' looks that make Trip Reports so thought-provoking.

There's a Hall of Fame thread here, too: Trip Reports: Hall of Fame
A suggestion for Mods here: could we merge these two threads and create a sticky with the best? Could make an interesting poll, or annual competition...

In addition, I give kudos to JapesUK offerendum Concerto ironmanjt
That said, my respect goes to any writer that completes a report. I've had many false starts, with every intention of posting when I return to home, but end up not finding the time for even simple prose and a few pics.
Thanks to all of the successful writers as I've been inspired many times for my own trips, whether unique uses of miles, unique places to visit, and restaurants to try!

Shameless self-promotion: I got a number of "great TR" comments on a report I filed a couple of years ago that covered a trip I took to the USSR including Central Asia. Back in the USSR - Russia and Central Asia, 1974
