Hi all - I am new to this site and apologize if my question is answered somewhere. I did a search and found similar but not exact matches.
I have a round trip ticket from FLL to MSP. On the return leg, I have a layover in LGA. I need to stay in LGA for a few days and miss my connection. I already have purchased a cheap one way ticket home from LGA to FLL.
I know that when I check my bag in MSP it will get tagged for FLL (since that is where I am supposed to end).
My question to you all is this: What can I do so that the bag gets tagged from MSP to LGA insead of MSP to FLL so I can have my luggage while I am in New York?
Thank you so much

Welcome to FlyerTalk!
What you are talking about is short-checking a bag and the chances of doing so successfully are virtually nil. You can either change your return flight to have a proper stop in LGA, carry-on only or ship your bag from MSP to wherever you are going in the NYC area.
