What to do about "knee jammers"?
I am looking for a bit of advice on how to handle men in the seat behind you who jam their knees up against the back of your seat for the express purpose of preventing you from reclining your seat (and I know some of you do this as you have admitted such in other threads...and yes, it's always men)?
This is happening more and more to me (about 40% of the time when I'm in Y), and it is a major problem...I fly very early AM flights in order to arrive at morning meetings, and then home again late at night. On both flights, I like to recline my seat and attempt to rest. This last happened to me last week, and I just about bit my tongue off. Not only was he keeping me from reclining, his knees were jammed into my back. I was going to turn around and ask him if he would mind removing his knees from my kidneys, but I just didn't have the guts, or the energy. However, the next guy who does this to me is not going to fare well, let me tell you, especially if I am PMSing.
Any advice on how to handle this diplomatically so that I don't get thrown off the plane? Thanks!

These FT classic threads offer some pointers from the viewpoint of the passenger behind you:
Passenger reclined the seat to my knees- so I grabbed and pulled the seat often
or this one
I bribed the passenger in front of me to not recline his seat

How do you distinguish between those people and tall guys like myself who's knees are jammed up against the seat when they are sitting normally?

if the distance from my knee cap to my hip were even a part of an inch longer I would have to pay for 1st class. I fit exactly into the seat...until you recline. There's no where for my knees to go except into the cushion. Sorry but there's nothing I can do. If there is no one in the middle seat I'll angle or if service isn't underway I can put one knee in the aisle but beyond that... nothing.
