Quick question re checking bags

Quick question re checking bags. I am travelling GLA->LGW->BUD->SKP on Thursday

GLA->LGW EasyJet and LGW->BUD->SKP is Malev Hungarian Airways. Now when I check in at GLA, will I be able to check in for the Malev portion of the trip and check my bags right through? My friends are taking the same trip except starting EDI->LGW. They seem to think we will have to check in at LGW.

What might complicate matters is that we are on a group booking with Malev, so we may have to all check in together at LGW...

I think the same, but maybe someone can shed some light on the matter?

Thanks!

No, you won't be able to check your bags through with this particular combination of airlines. You can check bags through with certain combinations of legacy carriers but not if one of your flights is with Easyjet.

Hope you left yourself plenty of time to make the connection?!

Yep - 2 hours 50 mins in Gatwick. Enough time to check in then have a few beers!

Thanks!

Easy Jet won't let you check bags through for connecting flights even if they're both on Easy Jet.

They really aren't that easy.

ha ha you can say that again. Hate flying with them and Ryanair, but others booked that flight, so going with them (and it was a third of the price of BA)
