Seats on Planes should be NON RECLINABLE !
I never put my seat back in a plane unless the person in front of me does it to me, then i have no choice otherwise the mini tv screen is right on top of your face. why not just make all seats non reclinable ? will save a lot of agro.

I'd much prefer that they were all locked in permanent recline position.

1) How long are your average flights? 2) Are you usually in Y or J/F? I can't imagine not reclining at all for a decent mid-con (ex DFW-SFO) if I were in Y. If I were in J/F, well, do those things even go all the way up? ;) |
Never been a thread on this to my knowledge. Should be interesting to follow.

I try to get exit-row seats where the seat in front of me can't recline or has limited recline.

OK, I'll take the socialist, namby pamby position and state I think all airplane seats should recline, and there should be sufficient room to be able to 1) use a laptop while the seat in front is reclined 2) eat a meal shile the seat in front is reclined 3) get up and squeeze past the other passengers sitting between you and the aisle -AND- all seats should be wide enough to fit the average sized person.

The only reason seats are so upright in the first place is for ease of getting in and out. The correct seating position is the recline position.
The problem isn't seat recline; it's seat pitch being so tight. I always recline (unless there's a specific reason not to, like the person behind me has a laptop or is pregnant), and I expect every sane person to do the same. |

I don't have to worry about kids or recliners in my exit row seat :D Personally, I've never understood the need for reclining on a short flight anyway. It's not like that extra 2 inches back makes it that much more comfortable and relaxing. |
Should not only in First. In coach You have more comfort when recline.

Do socialists use laptops? For them, aren't laptops capitalist-pig torture devices which force users into corporate submission. ;)
Hmmm. I like the way you think. |
