Virgin Atlantic

This was years ago but when I flew Virgin Atlantic from New York to London on coach, yes coach, they used to give out plastic nap sacks with fresh naps, socks, shoe horns with the words "Waki~Waki~", ear plugs, eye masks, a tiny rubber duckie (less than 1 inches) and tons of other goodies.

Then, in midflite after the meals they would give you icre cream, not to mention the free flowing booz (the flight attendants actually worked around with open bottles).

Can you imagine what the FIRST class was like or is like?

Back in the 90s, when I regularly flew NW to Asia and was still an unjaded air traveler, I loved the Aveda liquid soap in their business class lavatories. That was my first introduction to the product. Every time I smell that classic Aveda signature "scent" it brings back good memories and the romance of flying NW to Asia.

I like the sudoku puzzles in the airline magazines especially when they have multiple puzzles of various difficulty levels.

What trivial little things do you love on a plane?

Watching a SQ F FA hand me a drink, then realizing I've somehow got to put up with this for another 17 hours.

Ok, this is hilarious. The first thing I thought of when I saw the subject of this thread is the soap on UA! I love that smell! I always go to the lav, even on short flights if I don't need to, just to wash my hands.

I've even tried to find Crawford & Williams online somewhere, but didn't have much luck.

A personal entry of the captain into my "passenger logbook". Even better is when they captain comes back and hands it to me personally or lets me know to stop by in the cockpit, excuse me flight deck . Once, he even greeted me during the announcement that we will arrive shortly in LAX (on a Southwest flight LAS-LAX)

Failing to get an upgrade, but then seeing a celebrity in coach with a worse seat! (actual occurrence, Jerry Rice in a middle seat)

You know what I mean...thier UPPER class...I heard they pick you up in a limo, you get a personal shower and massage in a private lounge, special check in, a bar on the plane (I saw this), in-flight massage...all for mere $10,000+

Of course, there is the new Singapore A380 Sleeper Cabin with a sticker that read "please use the bed for sleeping only" ~ Yeah, right! Mile High Club anyone?
