who is still using red carbon forms?

are the old red carbon forms something that international ticket issuers are still using regularly? I saw the GA having to tear off a whole lot of these from the backs of BPs on a recent flight to SYD. How in the world are these still being used?

I bought a ticket last year on China Eastern and they used these. I believe they may also be used for endorsing tickets in irregular ops situations.

STA travel still does for some of their tickets (the "Blue" student tickets http://www.statravel.com/cps/rde/xch...hs.xsl/935.htm ).
I also had one from Spanair back in 2003.

RTW tickets come to mind. Some airlines reservation systems cannot print a ticket with more than x sectors, so they have to be handwritten.

AS still uses them (or did as of a couple years ago) for their bump vouchers. The voucher becomes your paper ticket when you redeem it.

Some of the smaller south pacific airlines use them still, like Solomon Airlines.

I have had them for RTW fares.

I booked a fare with AA which included DB rail segments and being told it was to be a paper ticket. I was rather looking forward to the old type ticket, but soon my hopes were dashed when in the mail I received the paper ticket on boarding pass stock. What a bummer.

Yup - I had a handwritten one late last year.

I know I had a typed-out one 5 or so yrs ago... might have been on KA or GA. I can still remember the red typeface, but its kinda hazy where I saw it.

My tickets on Lao Air from a few weeks ago were the red ones, as well.

My airline is 99.7% e-ticket, but for the rare occasions that we have to go paper the only stock we maintain is manual handwrites - red carbon and all.

I regularly purchase tickets at the UA GSA in CMB, and they are always the nasty red carbon tickets....
