There have undoubtedly been threads on people putting their bare feet on the bulkhead. On a flight today, I had a guy who took off his shoes and socks and put his feet on the bulkhead. That's part of the problem. The other part: he kept spreading his toes which had were crusty and moldy--imagine bleu cheese mashed up and flatted on toenails. He kept spreading his toes on the bulkhead. Even worse, he crossed his legs--but not all the way--and his heel (which was gross) was basically between us--pretty far up. Needless to say, lunch wasn't particularly appetizing for me, especially looking at the mashed up feta on my vegetable pasta salad. This guy also threw all his trash on the floor. The FA brings him pretzels and peanuts. What does he do? He throws all the packaging on the floor. He opens the packaging to a new DVD. He throws the trash on the floor. This guy was ridiculous.
Sorry about the rant. I'm not making fun of his feet, because we all have our own little quirks. But it's important to be respectful of others around you, especially when the smell is waffed towards you. Idiosyncrasies are cool. Showing your feet and putting them up for everyone to see is NOT.

The other day I was beside a girl who kept on putting her feet onto the bulkhead. I was disgusted, but strangely enough not badly enough to say anything to her. This disturbs me even more
On the way back I had a teenager put her feet on the empty middle seat between us withouot taking off her shoes. Again I didn't say anything. The FAs didn't care.

On a redeye from Vegas to somewhere a few years ago I was sitting in F trying to sleep when all of the sudden I felt something touching my arm... The guy behind me was putting his foot onto our armrest between the seats! I was disgusted... and gave his foot an elbow... a few minutes later he tried it again. so I shoved a pillow in there to plug up the hole. People are inconsiderate and disgusting sometimes.

I always find that the direct approach usually works best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A few years ago on a DTW-AMS flight, not only did the man next to me take off his shoes and socks, but then proceeded to pick at his toes! Talk about being grossed out! Yuck!

One has to wonder where these people were raised.....
On a flight one time, the person behind me put his foot through the seats onto the arm rest. I stood up and looked at him and simply said "move. your. foot".
He did and there were no further incursions.

What's interesting is when this concern first arose, there were quite a few who defended the practice of feet on the bulkhead. Look's like this thread has scared them all away!
