Hi, we just completed our honeymoon and wanted to share our experience with all of you... we have write down our experience in step by step manner...
How to Plan a Honeymoon: Narrow your destination to a select tropical area. Consider the Florida, Bahamas, Jamaica, Hawaii or your choice. Consider all-inclusive resorts for couples for a romantic, tropical vacation without the coordination stress. Ask about special couples-only features: his and hers spa treatments, isolated bungalows, private dinners. Research water sports and other activities in the area where you're traveling. If you are looking for an active honeymoon, make sure that there is adequate opportunity for sports and activity. Consider hitting two or more islands via charter plane or boat. Some tour companies can arrange a visit to a private island for a night or two.
Some warnings: Buy underwater disposable cameras at home to avoid inflated prices designed for "tourists." Take your marriage license, or other proof of marriage, when traveling for the first time as husband and wife. If time is limited, you may want to opt for the closest tropical destination to maximize your relaxation time and minimize your travel time.
So enjoy your honeymoon...!!!

How about:
Narrow your destination to a select arctic area. Consider the Nordic Countries, Hokkaido, Canada, Alaska or your choice. Consider all-inclusive resorts for couples* for a romantic, arctic vacation without the coordination stress. Ask about special couples-only features: his and hers spa treatments, isolated cottages, private dinners. Research winter sports and other activities in the area where you're traveling. If you are looking for an active honeymoon, make sure that there is adequate opportunity for sports and activity. Consider hitting two or more destination via charter plane or snowmobile. Some tour companies can arrange a visit to a private lodge or ice hotel for a night or two.
Some warnings: Buy superior winter clothing and accessories such as golves at home to avoid inflated prices designed for "tourists." Take your marriage license, or other proof of marriage, when traveling for the first time as husband and wife. If time is limited, you may want to opt for the closest arctic destination to maximize your relaxation time and minimize your travel time.
So enjoy your honeymoon...!!!
NB
*Ensure that same sex couple aren't discriminated against before you sign yourself up for a holiday at a Nazi camp.

My wife and I postponed our honeymoon by 6 months to allow for better planning and less instances to get stressed out right after an emotion wedding! It was a great move! Instead of hopping a jet right after the reception, we Pricelined a 4* hotel (they were great to us and upgraded our $89 room into a tower suite $399 value for all three nights - Highly recommend the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago) close to home to recuperate from all of the emotions.
6 months later (in the middle of Januray) we were on our way to Argentina and Brazil for a 14 day adventure! We loved it and were much better prepared than if we had to plan the honeymoon concurrently with the wedding....
Besides Carribbean locations, remember...winter in the N hemisphere = summer in the S hemisphere (barring altitude and proximity to water!) ^

Amongst the millions of discussion threads there are hundreds of wedding stories, with some great examples of exotic locations and travel financed by miles and points - with thanks to many here
.
Re. getting too excited and buying a lot of hotel stays on PL: be careful in 'convention' cities like SF (and NOLA when 'convening' again). Your 4/5* could be full and unable to upgrade you from a tiny room!
There's always LAS, adult wonderland with better rooms potentially a 'tip' away
winbornstephanie, welcome to Flyertalk

We're travelling business class (at what is effectively less than the price of an economy ticket and 18,500 miles each for a guaranteed upgrade both ways... bargain! Thanks FT!!!).
cabin rental for a week at a great rate and a couple of nights in a forest lodge
a week at the King Edward at another great rate thanks to Hotwire
and a side trip to Niagara Falls.
I'm delighted you enjoyed your honeymoon, winbornstephanie. I'm pretty sure I'll love mine just as much
