Yeah, looks like these a/c are being run nearly non stop 14+ hours per day. What happens to this scheduling when routine maintenance issues begin to arise, particularly as these A319s begin to age.

Rolling delays... lots of them. It's a dangerous gamble to run without a spare or backup plan.

Skybus Reservations for April 2008

Can anyone help me. I am going crazy checking their web site 10 times a day to catch the $10 fare. When will they make reservations from SFO available online ? Any other insider tips to getting the $10 fare ?

bfrager, welcome to FlyerTalk. We have an active thread on SkyBus in this forum, so let me merge your post with it, to see if any SkyBus travelers can offer help. Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator, TravelBuzz

According to this article on Dispatch dated Friday, October 12:

The Columbus startup is selling tickets for travel through March 8. Tickets for travel after that date are expected to go on sale in the next week or so, although the airline hasn't set a date.
The article also talks about temporary reduction plans for flights to the west coast (The Oakland flight is not included though).

Skybus is pulling out of Bellingham as soon as the holidays are over! They blame fuel costs and say they have to refocus the fleet on shorter flights closer to CMH... at least, that's what they told the "Vancouver / Seattle" market... so, no more west coast? What happens to BUR?

http://www.bellinghamherald.com/102/story/207529.html

CMH-BLI ends on January 5. Good thing the Bellingham Airport kingpins didn't plan that terminal expansion around Skybus.

They are cancelling the flights to 3 west coast markets, Bellingham, San Diego and Burbank.

Supposedly the cuts are in response to rising fuel costs so they are reallocating the aircraft to shorter routes.

That doesn't look good. Rising fuel cost sounds like an excuse. A more honest approach would be, "the passenger loads and fares fell far short of what we had hoped for."

I'd like to know where these supposed $10 fares are. I'm seeing a few $75 fares for OAK-CMH, but that's still not worth it when I'd have to book a connection to PIT elsewhere. Most of their one ways cost more than a RT on any other airline!

Yep!

I have yet to see where Skybus is less expensive RT

Obviously to the lucrative PSM and CEF markets. I mean, who doesn't want to jet off to Chicopee for the weekend? They have a mall, a landfill, and a defunct air force base...
