On the UA board, people sometimes mention things they like to give to fa's (chocolates, starbucks cards, etc.). While we love all of these , I would love, LOVE to get a amenity kit from another carrier, especially since the chance of little 'ole me flying F on AA, SQ, etc. is practially nil...

I once got one from AC, and it contained the best lip balm I've ever used.

Just my 2c

I doubt they are worth much, even though I've heard the non-BA Anya Hindmarch cases sell in stores for high prices. I stayed with a friend in Baltimore and she had a pink Clinique makeup box that was made of the same material and to the exact specs of my Anya Hindmarch box.
Some of the BA F Anya ones are worth money.

I sold the one with the rose design on ebay a while back (empty) for 40.

Geez, I gave away a pile of ours to a woman's shelter. Oh well, I'm sure it brightened their days. I also give them to friends going into the hospital.

This week I'm using the purse from AC's woman's kit from 1999. It makes a nice travel purse with enough room for my passport, pda and some money. And three or four other ones are in full-time use - they make great containers for computer paraphernalia.

These figures are highly disassociated from reality. Airlines pay anything between ~$1.50 for a generic amenity kit to ~$15 for a premium branded kit with all the bell and whistles.

It really isn't. They're talking about retail cost.
