There was one UK show that had one Greek/Cypriot carrier (Possibly my upcoming air carrier, Cyprus Air?) and also Air Canada. I recall the EasyJet one, which often seemed like a promo ad for Stelios, or whatever the owners name was. And the fairly rude supervisor.

Airport focused on LHR and had segments on a number of carriers--Cyprus was one, Qantas another, Aeroflot and Emirates were also in the mix if I remember correctly. They also followed a police officer, a fire fighter and paid frequent visits to the animal health facility. I recall, they also paid visits to the VIP reception center (or centre
); they featured Queen Elizabeth and President Clinton in different shows.Airline is all about EasyJet. I think they focused on Liverpool and Luton if I recall correctly. EasyJet came off in a way better light in the UK than does Southwest Airlines in the US version.

Yes, I loved watching the EasyJet employees at Luton; the employees there were really nice, though Stelios appeared a bit more often than I would have liked ... the American version really was just about angry drunk people and passengers-of-size on Southwest.
Did the Airport show also air on A&E? I'd be very interested to see it.

The show is called "AIRLINE"...
They hacked it (A&E), but it's still being produced.
I made up a petition to stop the cancelling of quality programming, featuring this show. I know that Southwest Airlines have seen this petition, and I believe A&E has as well... I actually talked to an employee featured on the show (Nick), he told me that the majority of the BWI SWA staff have heard of the petition.
Please, show your support!

I thought the show was excellent, showing what not to do when traveling, and what could possibly happen when traveling. Very educational to those with cable tv. But maybe they were missing their target audience, if it is cancelled.

Airport = Show about LHR
Airline = Show about WN (US)
Airline = Show about EZ (UK)
All good shows. I really liked Airport myself, they did a segement on people sleeping at LHR at night which I loved......having spent 20+ nights sleeping at Terminal 3 over the past few years.

I enjoyed the first season, but as a "plane geek" the kinds of things that would have interested me just didn't make for good television, and were never shown.
I wanted to learn about airline operations - Routes, staff scheduling, how you turn a 737 around. I wanted to learn what SW does when they strip down a plane for service and put it back together again etc.
I wanted to follow a piece of luggage - From when you give it to the agent and it disappears on a conveyor belt to when it (hopefully) pops out at the carousel.
I wanted them to follow a flight - From the craft arriving at the gate to its landing at another gate and push-back for a new flight. EVERYTHING that happens, from passenger loading to catering, to filing a flight plan to comms with traffic control etc. - Then what happens in the air with ATC routing etc.
They never showed much of any of that - Just drunks, white trash, and employee parties so I gave up on the show.
Cheers,
Geoff in Vancouver

When I lived in LA I used to see one of the LAX Southwest employees on the show named Yolanda all the time. She was very friendly and did a good job boarding her flights.

As mentioned, it all started with 'Airport', featuring LHR. Then, it was 'Airline', featuring EasyJet in the UK with stories from Luton and Liverpool.
After that, I believe variations started appearing. There's one called 'Holidays' or something where it featured a Greek airport, but the focus was on a charter holiday company. I can't recall the location, but it's a popular UK holiday spot. 'Holidays' featured a lot of Burberry and track-suit wearing British going on their charter holidays in Greece.
Then, the show reached the US with 'Airline' featuring SouthWest and 'Airport' featuring, MIA, LAX, and ORD. I believe each of the airports has their own series.
P.S. No, I don't watch too much TV.
The only ones I make half an effort to watch are the 'Airport' ones and its variations.
