There is a thread about the worst military move in 2000 years. I think this guy is gonna provide some competition.

A couple of questions:

1. Why is this a 'frustration'? Most people would be incredibly grateful to have the time, money and opportunity to take a trip like this. What's so terrible that you have to 'rant' about it?

2. Why no mention of your bride-to-be in the honeymoon plans? Are you assuming that she'll be off with the scuba instructor?

Because if he keeps this act up, and she's smart, I have no doubts.

Hopefully your new wife will meet Colonel Angus on the honeymoon.

Everyone seems to be assuming that the OP is the groom, rather than the bride. I don't see anything in the original post to support that. Some people may assume it from the tone, or the self-professed workaholism, but I could see this post coming from at least one woman I dated for a while.

good point, djk. That is possible. I assumed it was the groom because 1. the groom traditionally pays for the honeymoon and 2. let's face it, this is more typically male behavior than female. When was the last time you heard a woman planning her honeymoon and never once mentioning her future husband?

True, that normally happens more with the wedding planning.

This may be the first case I've ever seen of Groomzilla!

I was going to ask what the OP's fiance(e)'s ideas were on the subject, but I think you've nailed it!

LOL... Thanks for all the replies guys. All the helpful and the non-helpful/rude ones too. Anyways, as I said in my original post, it may sound like whining and I realize that I sound like I am making a big deal out of it...

Just as a FYI, All the conditions I mentioned also apply to my fiancee. I have been discussing the whole thing with her and she has equal input. I guess I should have made that clear in my original post (and refrained from saying 'I' and said 'we').

*We* did get a few good ideas out of the post...and *we* are following up on the leads. *We* would like to thank everyone for their useful and useless input.

Welcome to FT. Congratulations, as well. Don't mind us. We're just bored and looking for amusement. The next newb will get the same treatment and you'll get to join in. I see you're already choosing your words more carefully.
