OS and BA both fly, check out their websites for some good deals. Ultimately it may be cheaper to fly LTN-ZRH on Easyjet and take a train or another flight onto Vienna, if you are on a tight budget

Cheers

Well, as luck would have it, I just flew LHR-VIE and back last week on Austrian (OS). Others that I was travelling with flew British Airways. We both paid about $180 (I booked mine on the UK site of Austrian - it was 96 pounds, I think). I'm working on a trip report; I've detailed my OS flight to VIE here.

Without checking on your specifics, I can tell you that RyanAir just began service to Bratislava, Slovakia, around 40 miles away.

One Hour by train or bus.

I believe there is another (better!) airline that also flies between Bratislava and London. I would avoid Ryanair unless they are the only option.

Most LCC services to London arrive at Stansted (STN), and there is a list of destinations and airlines that go there on the Stansted web site - www.baa.com, follow the "Stansted" link.

Indeed - SkyEurope also flies STN-BTS, with a connecting coach service to VIE and Vienna itself. Alternatively, Air Berlin flies STN-VIE. Both options are infinitely better than Eire O'Flot.

Try www.airberlin.com or www.flyniki.com (these are basically two arms of the same company, should return the same flights whichever way in you go).

I did look at LCC when planning my trip, but decided to remain mainline The prices were similar in my case. On my trip, flying OS also allowed me to accrue EQM on United, as well as through check my luggage from LAX-LHR-VIE, so I didn't have to enter the UK and deal with immigration, customs, and security. These were all nice benefits to me.

One option would be to take Lufthansa LCC daughter Germanwings through Cologne. The advantage there is that they fly out of Gatwick instead of Stansted so it's possible to connect to a flight to/from the US.
