Exiting the US under VISIT Rules?

Hello,

I understand that when exiting the US from certain departure points (i.e. ORD which I will be visiting this year), I need to use some sort of self service kiosk to provide the US authorities with certain information. I have a couple of questions:

i) Is it reasonably obvious to use?

ii) Are there humans around to help if things go horribly wrong?

Regards
I

From what I've seen at DTW, there are humans around during "banker's hours" (9am to 4:30pm) to help you at the kiosk.

Thanks for confirming that. I'm expecting it to be easy but you never know with these new things (and according to the BMI website, only a couple of exit points have them at the moment).

I've seen these machines at pier G of SFO (int'l terminal). No clue how to use them.
