champagne on board?

Hello. My brother is going to be flying dfw-las for his 40th bday and rather than drop a ridiculous amount of money at his hotel for a bottle of champagne at the Venetian he wants to bring a few bottles of his own on carry on luggage. Are there any airline regs prohibiting this? Any TSA restrictions? He won't be consuming it on board, just taking it with him (unopened of course).

Thanks!

He should have no problem unless the TSA luggage thieves dont repack it well and it breaks. They dont repack my personal and office stuff too well. Personally I would buy the bubbly in Las Vegas at a liquor store. There seems to be one every 200 ft

Should be fine. I carried 3 magnums (double bottles) CDG-PHL-SEA 2 years ago.

Unless you are bringing rare expensive bottles of champagne I concur with the others that you should just stop at a local liquor store. Liquor stores are plentiful. On our last trip to Vegas we made a liquor store run on the way to the hotel and this definitly saved us a few bucks. We also picked up bottled water which is quite expensive in the hotel gift shop.

Of course. Was in transit to Canada so U.S. customs didn't care. Canadian customs didn't care too much either. Not enough to levy a duty at any rate.

Do carry-on. That way he can avoid the illegal hands of the TSA pawing it in his absence.

NOt a big deal to carry the the bubbly on the plane. I have brought home numerous bottles of wine form Italy. Make sure its packed properly and not rolling around in carryon bag. The advice to purchase in LV seems to be the best.
